Right Now

Welcome to Right Now

Association for the Promotion of an Inclusive Society

Right Now is a Vienna-based association working throughout Europe to strengthen inclusion and fundamental human rights.

We design and implement innovative inclusion projects that promote equal participation for all people — especially marginalized groups — in every area of life.

Our goal is clear:
Empowerment. Leadership. Equal opportunities.

We believe that people with disabilities and other marginalized communities should not only participate — they should lead.

What We Stand For

Right Now promotes an inclusive society based on fundamental human rights, including:

  • The Universal Declaration of Human Rights

  • The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union

  • The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

Our work is guided by five core principles:

Dignity. Freedom. Equality. Solidarity. Non-discrimination.

We support people in discovering their strengths, developing their talents, and taking responsibility — in society, business, politics, and administration.

Diversity Leads!

Disability Leadership Programme

Our flagship initiative, Disability Leadership, is a unique leadership programme for people with disabilities in Austria.

Supported by the Licht ins Dunkel Innovation Fund and developed in cooperation with the Bertha von Suttner Private University in St. Pölten, the programme trains new leaders with and for people with disabilities.

Disability Leadership started on 31 October 2025.

The Goal

To encourage people with disabilities to take on leadership roles — in associations, advocacy groups, organizations, and beyond.

Who Can Participate?

People with disabilities who want to get involved and take responsibility.
No formal education or school-leaving certificate is required.

What Participants Learn

  • Leadership skills

  • Advocacy for disability rights

  • Inclusive communication

  • Political participation

  • Project development

  • Social change strategies

The programme combines workshops, seminars, mentoring, networking, and hands-on project work. It runs from November 2025 to June 2027 and is designed to be flexible and accessible.

As Daniela Rammel, association chairwoman, says:

“This leadership programme is an important key to breaking down barriers and an important step towards empowerment and greater inclusion in companies.”

Franz Joseph Huainigg adds:

“People with disabilities are often told what is good for them. But the opposite of good is well-intentioned. Right Now changes this through real self-empowerment.”

Practical Learning & Real Responsibility

The programme is divided into three parts:

Part A – Disability Leadership: A New Approach to Leadership
Exploring disability studies, disability justice, inclusion, accessible communication, political participation and social change.

Part B – Practical Learning & Networking
Participation in leadership programmes, collaboration with organisations, networking within the disability movement, and individual mentoring.

Part C – Creating Your Own Project
Participants design and implement their own projects in politics, activism, or organizational collaboration — putting leadership into practice.

Become a Mentor

Inclusive leadership needs allies.

As a mentor, you accompany a participant over several months as a discussion partner and supporter. Mentoring runs from April 2026 to April 2027 with approximately 6–12 hours per year.

Forms of mentoring include:

  • Leadership mentoring

  • Peer mentoring

  • Coaching mentoring

By participating, you help strengthen inclusive leadership culture in Austria and contribute directly to social change.

Our Advisory Board – Critical Friends

Our Programme Advisory Board ensures quality, inclusion, and lived experience in all programme development.

Representatives from the disability movement actively contribute their expertise and perspectives, ensuring that inclusion is shaped collaboratively and authentically.
